Dara’s artwork is all about smiling faces and soft shapes; bright colors and harmony! Dara’s welcoming personality shines through in her fine art as her artistic confidence continues to develop beautifully. She loves to collaborate with other artists and they, with Dara. Her ability to listen and offer support in the studio makes her precious presences. "Dara is a ray of light!" says Wendy Minor Viny, Artist-in-Residence. Stop by the Passion Works Store and talk to the sales staff about our beautifully versatile Passion Works Greeting Cards. We’ve made the process simple and profitable to encourage participation and maximize your profits! Chris Stewart, coach of the 11-U Athens All-Star Baseball Team just completed a successful fundraiser with his young athletes. His group sold a total of 205 Passion Works Greeting Card Packs and raised a total of $1,107.00 for the team! “This was one of the easiest fundraisers we have done. Without an obligation or pressure to sell a certain minimum amount, it really made fundraising rather painless. Additionally, it was easy for our team members to each make a good amount of money because the cards are attractive and there are a variety of options. Customers were delighted to purchase cards from our players because they felt it was a win/win situation. Not only were they helping our baseball players raise money, but they knew they were supporting a great local organization in Passion Works as well. Our baseball team will most definitely use the Passion Works greeting card fundraiser again in the future”, said Coach Stewart.
Passion Works Screening at the 37th Athens International Film Festival Brings Extended Applause!
On April 26th, Passion Works presented their short, stop-animation film, Motorcycle Dreams at the 2010 Athens International Film and Video Festival. The screening was fabulous and described as visually stunning in the film festival catalog! Many Passion Works Artists and staff attended. The crowd was enthusiastic and responsive! Academy Award nominee, documentarian, filmmaker and Ohio Arts Council Visiting Artist, Melissa Godoy, paired up with Passion Works Studio to produce this exciting film that brought the artwork of our artists alive. Many thanks to a supportive crowd and to Melissa Godoy for collaborating with Passion Works to produce this enduring piece!

Passion Works is a division of Atco, Inc., the training and employment center for adults with disabilities. In many ways, Atco and Passion Works are one big team with the same goal of inspiring and liberating the human spirit through the arts. This month, we honor the inspiring work of Carol Sanborn, Freda Balch and Shannon Tipton. They are the production support-staff who help to extend the spirit of Passion Works beyond the studio walls! So many of the products we offer for sale in the Passion Works Store begin at Atco with the encouragement of our fabulous, production support staff! They help our artists with disabilities contribute to the creation of so many beautiful items. From decorating sheet-aluminum for Passion Flowers and pressing petals, to painting designs on paper for our beautiful single paper flowers and paper flower bouquets, to putting a blended basecoat on painted bird houses, or embellishing wooden ornaments - we can’t imagine getting by without the care and dedication of these talented professionals. Thank you Carol, Freda and Shannon! You are truly our partners in Fine Art!
