Carole Miller, Passion Works featured artist for the month of March, livens up the studio with her stories of family, trips to Alaska and bowling with friends. Colorful birds, exotic plant life, and narrative stories of her life can be found in her paintings such as Carole’s Wedding, What a Pickle and Birds Over the Rushes.

Athens Public Library Show |
An opening reception will be held Tuesday, March 10th from 3-5 pm. The pieces will remain on display through March 27th and may be viewed during the library business hours. |
Disabilities Awareness Festival |
The 2009 Disabilities Awareness Festival, hosted by the Athens County Board of Developmental Disabilities, will be held Tuesday, March 3rd, 6:30-8:30 pm at the Athens Community Center. The events purpose is to promote the capabilities of individuals with disabilities. This year’s theme is “Just Like You” and Passion Works Artists will be participating in poetry readings, musical performances, an art display and an array of other activities throughout the evening. Please join us at this free, community sharing at 701 E. State Street, Athens, OH.

Featured Fan Lynn Harter |
 Lynn Harter is Passion Works’ Featured Fan for the month of March. A professor in the College of Communication at Ohio University, Dr. Harter began her relationship with Passion Works as a supporter. During her very first week living in Athens, she stumbled upon Passion Works while having dinner Casa Nueva Restaurant, where the studio’s artwork was being displayed. While admiring the creative pieces, she was drawn to the studio’s mission to inspire and liberate the human spirit through the arts. “What kind of organization has a mission to inspire and liberate?” Dr. Harter said. Passion Works Studio, storefront and business operations will soon be operating in its new location at 20 E. State Street, Athens. With a fresh coat of paint, the space is beginning to have a “Passion Works” feel. With just a few more renovations to make the space ADA accessible, the big job of moving can begin. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that by the end of March we’ll be completely settled in. In the meantime, be sure to visit us at our current location at 20 E. State St. (just off Stimson Avenue) at the back of the Atco building. Our store hours are Monday through Friday 9-6 and Saturday 11-5.
