Marilyn Tucker, who is Passion Works’ featured artist for December, is a delight to work with. Marilyn is a focused artist who is very enthusiastic about making art. Her work reflects her pleasant and patient personality. Marilyn often creates scenes or a collection of favorite images in her works. She is very intuitive with her color choices and strives to have a finished-look to her pieces.

Shoppers looking for unique gifts this holiday season are in luck. Passion Works will be hosting a Holiday Open House Saturday December 12th 10am-5pm to showcase its latest items. Leave the department store stress behind and enjoy a day in the studio. You will find gifts with that special charm you’re looking for. Browse items such as holiday ornaments, Passion Flowers and one-of-kind birdhouses and paintings. Pewter jewelry will be offered at a “buy one, get one free” special. Whether placing it beneath the tree or snuggly inside a stocking, gifts of all shapes and sizes - from old and new collections - will be available.

Goodbye and best wishes go out to Zack Gemmell. Zack, an Ohio University graduate and lead singer for Octoberfist, has been a production artist in the studio the past two years. While here he assembled art products, provided outstanding customer service and was an all-around great guy. Zack will be moving to Mexico City, Mexico the first of the year. Good luck Zack!

Patty Mitchell, creative founder of Passion Works, recently led a two week residency as an Ohio Arts Council Visiting Artist. During the residency original works of art were combined with photos and embellished with watercolors to create new pieces. These new pieces will printed in large format at The Aesthetic Technologies Lab at Ohio University. The final pieces will be ready for viewing at a celebration of our new gallery space to be held in January. Be sure to check the January newsletter for details!
