Cardon Smith is our Passion Works Studio Artist for the month of March. Cardon is a wonderful artist and has an extensive portfolio that grows larger every week. Cardon is interested in floor plans and pictures of houses. He carries with him realtors listings as reference for his personal art. Cardon's paintings have a southwest feel and the colors that he chooses are reminiscent of clay mesas, deep purples, and orange sunsets, providing a desert vibe. Cardon has an amazing attention to detail and color, filling his canvases with an accomplished and completed look.

Souper Bowl is a fundraiser to benefit the Athens Area Mediation Service and Passion Works Studio. Come and enjoy a delicious meal provided by area restaurants and take home a locally made hand-crafted bowl. Music will be provided by The Ohio University Flute Quartet and Flute Choir, Gay and Bruce Dalzell and Becca Rossiter. This event will be held Sunday, March 9 from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Athens Community Center.

Passion Works Studio’s second CD, “My Little Pancake Button” will be celebrated at a CD Release Party on Saturday, April 5th 6-8:30 pm at Arts/West in Athens. Passion Works Studio Artists and Hocking College students have been writing poetry together since 2000. Local musicians have transformed these writings into song and will perform the pieces at the CD Release Party. The Factory Street Dancers & Moving Parts will also be performing and new works of art from the studio will be on display. Admission is free. CD’s will be available for purchase at the event.

Original artwork by Passion Works Artists can be seen in several locations. Twenty framed pieces are now on display at the Ohio Department of MRDD Office. The office is located at 35 E. Chestnut Street, Columbus, OH 43214. Three paintings are also part of the Art of Ohio display at the Athens Public Library, 30 Home St., Athens. There will be an opening reception on Tuesday, March 11 from 5:30-7pm. Refreshment will be served.

Passion Works Wall sculptures can be viewed at the Nelsonville Public Library at 95 W. Washington St. in Nelsonville, OH.

All artwork will be on display through the end of March.

A Home Party Consultant is an independent business owner who promotes Passion Works Studio, its artists and product line in the homes of hostesses who sponsor a Home Party.
