Featured Artist Derek Boals
Derek Boals is known for his drawings and paintings of miniature cities, people and ancient architecture. He enjoys clip-art images of buildings, towns and trains, and has created many art pieces with tiny houses and objects that reflect his eye for fine detail. Derek has a wonderful sense of humor, and has a careful concentration when he paints.

Opening Reception at Casa Nueva

Passion Works Studio Artists will be having an opening reception at Casa Nueva on Thursday, January 10, 2008 from 3pm to 4:15pm. The reception is to celebrate the recent installation titled “The 100 Floor Village," featuring one-of-a-kind wall art from our collection. The show will be up through the month of January.

Souper Bowl 2008
Souper Bowl 2008 is an annual fundraiser for Passion Works Studio and Athens Area Mediation Services. Local potters make and donate bowls of all shapes and sizes. Local restaurants donate soup, bread, cookies and beverages. People attending the event can select a bowl to take home and while at the event, enjoy a meal, entertainment and the company of friends.

This year's event will be held Sunday, March 9th. All proceeds from ticket sales are shared between Passion Works and the Athens Area Mediation Service. Details on where to buy tickets and time of event will be in the February newsletter.

Bowl Making for Souper Bowl Event
Nelsonville Pottery is opening up their studio to artists who would like to donate hand made bowls to this year's Souper Bowl Fundraiser. The open studio will be on Saturday, January 26 from 11am-2pm. Nelsonville Pottery is located in the Public Square Historic Arts District in Nelsonville, Ohio.
