Dan Schoonover, Featured Artist of the Month

You might know him as Shady Dan the entrepreneur who sells sunglasses but other than his sunglasses there’s nothing shady about Dan.

While at Passion Works, Dan enjoys drawing and painting cars and often paints vibrantly colorful sunny days. We particularly like the larger than life flowers that show up in his work.

Dan’s sunglasses are so reasonably priced that you can afford to pick up a pair for everyone in the entire family and they do come in both children’s and adult sizes. You can find Shady Dan’s fine fashionable eye-wear at So-Livi’s and PersonnelPlus in Uptown Athens or in Nelsonville at Tish’s Treasures and Rocky Boots!

We really enjoy having Dan at Passion Works where you can purchase Dan Schoonover original artworks and if you buy them Tuesday mornings from 10am-12 noon you can meet Dan Schoonover, Passion Works Artist of the Month! Good job Dan!

Passion Works would like to welcome Amanda Brown to our team!

Amanda attended High School in Cincinnati and has worked for the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. She comes to us straight from Ohio University where she attended 2009-2013 studying Fine Arts, Anthropology and French. Her likes are design, painting, photography, traveling, skiing, dreaming, reading, exploring, speaking French, being outside and color.

Amanda was interning at Passion Works when we hired her as a Production Artist but unfortunately for us she will only be with us for a few months since she is moving to France in the autumn. I guess she really does want to speak French. Amanda was so good as an intern that we decided we had to have her as part of our team even if only for a while. Viva la France!

Featured Fan of the Month: Jenna Dill

Jenna Dill studied Marketing and Business Administration at Ohio University and now is the Marketing and Sales Manager for the Athens County Convention and Visitors Bureau. She long has been an advocate for Passion Works. Whenever a film crew comes to town to feature Athens, Jenna suggests that they go to Passion Works. Jenna is also serving on the Auction Committee for the “Passion Works Funky Formal Fine Art Auction” & Dinner. Thank you so much Jenna.

Jenna sums herself up by saying she is obsessed with her family, job, traveling, thunderstorms, taking pictures, food, running and dogs. She proclaims “Life is good!” Thanks to great community leaders like Jenna Dill, we can also say “Life is Good” at Passion Works Studio!

Exhibition featuring artwork by Jason Douglas, Marilyn Tucker, John Marquis, Cardon Smith, Andy Holly and Troy Goins. The opening will be Thursday, June 13 from 5-7 pm and we’ll be sure to have a big art sale featuring many of these artists. We will also have a limited edition Mug and Tile featuring art from the show. “Voices” will run through July 27, 2013.
