Are you passionate about cake and Passion Works Studio? If so, you’re in luck! The 2nd Annual Passion Works Studio Cake Auction is quickly approaching. The auction is on Saturday May 12th from 10am-3pm at the The Market on State. While you admire and bid on cakes donated from local businesses and organizations, live music will be provided to delight your ears. The day kicks off with an “Old Time Rock ‘n’ Roll” performance by the ATCO Vocal Choir at 11:00 am. From 11:45 am until close at 3pm, an Ohio University ensemble will perform different music styles ranging from chamber music to jazz. The Power 105 Jambulance will also make an appearance at the event.

Passion Works is still in need of donors to create and donate a cake! The cake by no means needs to be professionally made; however, cakes may be made by a bakery. We ask that each cake donor also donate a $25 minimum incentive item, such as a gift card, to provide the community further incentive to bid. If you are a local business/organization or individual interested in donating a cake with incentives, please email cake@passionworks.org. We look forward to seeing you at the auction, hungry for an edible masterpiece!

And while you’re in the neighborhood, Stop by the Hillel at Ohio University to view and purchase Challah Bread Covers custom painted by Our Passion Works Artists! These covers are ready to use during your Sabbath family dinners or for hanging as tapestry art. Themes are drawn from nature and feature, birds, pomegranates and grapes, challises, family themes and more. Don’t miss this special Mom’s Weekend Open House at Passion Works and Hillel Collaborative Opening on Saturday, May 5th. There will be lots to do in the Passion Works Neighborhood!

Hillel Jewish Center will be open between 4 PM- 6 PM for the unveiling of the Challah Bread Covers. They are the result of an exciting collaboration between Passion Works Artists and Hillel at Ohio University Students.  These works of art will be for sale to benefit Passion Works Studio and their programming which facilitates the striking and innovative artwork of local artists with special needs. These hand-made challah covers were created with love and skill, and are sure to be treasured for many years by those lucky enough to take one home!
